HOUSEGOOSE

HOUSEGOOSE! A GOOSE IN THE HOUSE?! HOUSE GEESE?! OR DO YOU CALL THEM HOUSEGEESE? It is true. There are people who keep geese, ducks, chickens and other, what you might call "farm birds" in their homes. yes, indoors in their homes. Indoor geese, ducks and chickens, as pets. And you might be surprised to find out, they make WONDERFUL PETS! But please read this site and our sister sites about the birds and what they require before you run out and grab up a sweet little gosling. Please keep in mind that many years ago I am sure people were thought of as strange to bring a dog or cat or parrot into there homes. At one time only the very wealthy would do this.

A SITE ALL ABOUT THE HOUSE GOOSE, HOUSE DUCKS AND HOUSE CHICKENS TO BE WRITTEN BY PEOPLE THAT OWN AND LOVE THEM

COMING SOON! A COMMUNITY SITE FOR THOSE OF US THAT LOVE THESE "FARM BIRDS" THAT LIVE IN OUR HOMES!

Yes, it is true. People do keep a goose or geese in their homes as pets. Why not, people have kept Parrots through history in their homes. Most people however diaper their housegoose rather then cage them. Housegeese do need some special care, special equipment and special love if you do decide to keep a goose in your home.

Did you know that a goose can learn to come when you call it's name, can learn to do tricks and tasks? Did you know that geese can and usually do make great guard animals? Many people who are not afraid of dogs ARE afraid of geese.

Who was the first person to keep a goose in the home? Who knows. Solomon said waaaay back in Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV) "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." Solomon kept many animals, domestic and exotic. I would not be surprised at all to know that he had the lovely, smart and fun birds we know as geese.

QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE: How often dose one change a goose's diaper? Does a goose need a cage or crate? What can they learn? Are they mean? What about the eggs they lay? How big are they full grown? Will my cat eat them? What do they eat? Does one need a pond to own a goose? Do I need to get more then one? Have a look around the website and find out the answers to these questions and more.
